It was Good

Question: Why is ‘it was Good’ repeated so many times in Genesis 1?

There is some discussion as to the possibility, that the Genesis event in the Bible, is not the first time that a creation had taken place on Earth.

The concept took root quite strongly approx. 2–300 years ago, as one explanation for the “apparent” repeat of the Creation story!

It is given strength by the wording of parts of the 1st Chapter of Genesis, where there seems to be reference to the time when all land was in one place, prior to “Continental Drift” (v.9), which gave sufficient time for the large spread of reptilian and humanoid remains to be located all over the world’s landmasses, again prior to the land splitting into the Continents.

The repeated use of the Words “it was Good” seems to give the implication that the previous “remains” were not good!  God finishes the last day of Creation with the worlds in v.31, "It was VERY Good"!

This has led on to the idea that Almighty God was setting in place His KNOWLEDGE of what is good; and puts in place "Eden", with the "Free-will" choice for humanity of the knowledge of Good and Evil"; which in the Bible works towards the "Culminations" of Good and Evil (Rev. 20:11-15)!

This was after His enemy Satan had had his chance to create a successful occupation of the world with his creatures; which clearly were not good!

At the present time, we have the situation where the creation by Almighty God through Christ Jesus; allows human kind to escape the doom of Satan (the god of this world presently), by trust in God’s Love in the Sacrifice of Jesus, as propitiation of the world’s Sin; which undoes the efforts of Satan, and is the eventual death knell to him and all his demons and those humans that worship him (Rev. 20:7–10)!
